【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoversaprotocolforevaluatingthecompatibilityofoneorthreebinarymixturesoflubricatinggreasesbycomparingtheirpropertiesorperformancerelativetothoseoftheneatgreasescomprisingthemixture.1.2Threepropertiesareevaluatedinaprimarytestingprotocolusingstandardtestmethods:(1)droppingpointbyTestMethodD566(orTestMethodD2265);(2)shearstabilitybyTestMethodsD217,100000-strokeworkedpenetration;and(3)storagestabilityatelevated-temperaturebychangein60-strokepenetration(TestMethodD217).Forcompatiblemixtures(thosepassingallprimarytesting),asecondary(nonmandatory)testingschemeissuggestedwhencircumstancesindicatetheneedforadditionaltesting.1.3Sequentialorconcurrenttestingiscontinueduntilthefirstfailure.Ifanymixturefailsanyoftheprimarytests,thegreasesareincompatible.Ifallmixturespassthethreeprimarytests,thegreasesareconsideredcompatible.1.4Thispracticeappliesonlytolubricatinggreaseshavingcharacteristicssuitableforevaluationbythesuggestedtestmethods.Ifthescopeofaspecifictestmethodlimitstestingtothosegreaseswithinaspecifiedrangeofproperties,greasesoutsidethatrangecannotbetestedforcompatibilitybythattestmethod.Anexceptiontothiswouldbewhenthetestedpropertyoftheneat,constituentgreasesiswithinthespecifiedrange,butthetestedpropertyofamixtureisoutsidetherangebecauseofincompatibility.1.5Thispracticedoesnotpurporttocoveralltestmethodsthatcouldbeemployed.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyinformation,see7.2.3.
